The OmniTrak combines the synchronous drive of cam-driven workstations with the asynchronous pallet movement of ATS programmable SuperTrak conveyor. This results in an optimized, robust and reliable assembly solution with lower capital investment, noise and less maintenance required.
The equipment´s core stations are gluing and curing of stainless steel needles into glass syringes barrels. The barrels will be loaded and offloaded, leveraging the ATS combi-trayloader at high rate. The cannulas can be re-filled during normal operation of the machine without stopping the machine during this period.

Discovery dial or ring machines are standardized, cam driven platforms that ATS has refined and successfully implemented throughout the industry for decades. It achieves high production performance due to the high repeatability of cam driven stations and easy maintenance. The dial or ring movement is generated by an indexer coupled to the main drive shaft producing a synchronized machine.
The plastic syringe assembly line consists of three Discovery dial machines connected together with several pick-and-place and check stations.
Additional special process stations are included such as Pre Adhesive Preparation (Plasma Treatment), Glue and Silicon dosing, UV Adhesive Curing and Pull & Flow Test checking

ATS OmniTrak is an unique assembly system technology that has been proven in production for many years. It combines the precision of cam-controlled workstations and the flexibility of linear motor-driven workpiece carriers (ATS Supertrak). This system offers high flexibility for products and process times, as well as a lower maintenance and space requirements.
The high output three-lane system includes stations for needles (singulate, orientate) and tubes (cutting, gluing) handling. After passing vision inspections and quality tests, the fully assembled multifly sets are automatically fed to a blister packaging machine.

The assembly machine is based on the well-known linear Spaceline and rotary Discovery platform technologies. It benefits from a modular design and is used for high volume production and/or products consisting of a large quantity of components. All assembly and inspection movements are generated by means of cams on one or more main shafts. Their position is transmitted to the PLC via rotary encoders in order to generate control signals.
The 28-track system, where all components will be assembled, processed and inspected, ensures a gross output of about 924 parts/min. Core processes are the assembling, gluing with subsequent hardening, siliconizing, and various inspections of the injection pen needles.
